5 simple things you need to do to have fabulous hair on your wedding day

If you are getting married anytime soon, you must already be going crazy with your wedding prep. But don’t let the pre-wedding stress damage your hair before the big day. Start your hair care today itself to make sure that you have healthy and beautiful hair that you can style to your liking on your wedding day.

To make your hair care regime easier, here are the 5 things you can start doing at least 6 months prior to D-day! No, 6 months is not a long time. You can even follow a pre-bridal beauty timeline to look like a million bucks on your wedding!

1. Maintain a healthy diet

* This is literally a no-brainer. Eat your greens and fruits and maintain a healthy diet to have healthy and thick hair. Eat foods that are rich in Vitamin E. Snack on that avocado-rich guacamole or almonds when you’re hungry in between meals. Both of them are full of Vitamin E that helps your hair become healthy.

* If you have excessive hair fall, consult your doctor and ask him/her if it is safe for you to take biotin supplements. Biotin is a water-soluble vitamin, which makes your hair and nails grow healthier and faster. You can read more about biotin supplements here.

2. At-home oil therapy and deep conditioning

* Do the good-old champi every week to strengthen your hair roots and repair damage. Using a good-quality virgin coconut oil for hair massage is the best. I personally love the Max Care Cold Pressed Virgin Coconut Oil as it has made my hair stronger and shinier over a period of time. Use an organic shampoo for hair wash and don’t forget to use a good hair conditioner post hair wash!

* Try deep-conditioning hair treatment with a DIY mask every 2 weeks to make it super-soft. I personally like a good avocado-olive oil mask that nourishes my hair and make it silky. You can use this mask if you have damaged hair that needs moisture! Find the recipe here.

3. Go for regular hair spa sessions

There’s nothing more relaxing and rejuvenating like a good hair spa. Start your sessions 6 months before the wedding and take a spa every 30 days to reverse any kind of damage that your hair has gone through. While you’re at it, get a relaxing facial too! 😉

4. Pre-wedding hair colouring tips

Unless you have coloured your hair previously, it is recommend to not change your hair colour before getting married. However, if you already have coloured hair, make sure you catch hold of a good hair colourist and use ammonia-free and branded hair colours with minimal chemicals. Even better if you can find organic hair colour that won’t damage your hair like commercial hair colours do.

5. Get a regular hair trim

This might sound unnecessary, but believe me, trimming your hair every 2 months will not only get rid of your split ends, but also keep your hair in good shape. If you think going to a salon everytime you need a trim is too much, then you can even do it yourself at home. Here’s a tutorial on how to trim your hair at home!

Follow these 5 tips religiously and slay on your wedding day with fabulous hair!

Ricky & Tanya Pune : This gorgeous duo’s grand wedding had a beautiful plush decor falling right out of a fairytale!

The Wedding

Tanya and Ricky recently got hitched in a charismatic wedding at JW Marriott overlooking the breezy hills of Pune. With plush decor and a surreal looking couple, this wedding’s photographs captured by Dipak Studios are a must see! The royal setting of JW Marriott amidst the scenic beauty of Pune hills is what makes this wedding one of a kind!

The decor in particular, which was planned and executed by Weddings by Ekta Saigal Lulla was truly breathtaking!

The Couple

Our gorgeous duo had a love-cum-arranged marriage; only the love came later into the picture. It was one of those simple settings where feelings naturally developed and the couple just clicked!

Tanya and Ricky met through a common friend in an arranged marriage setup. Their very first meet lasted for four hours and they both actually lost the track of time when being with each other.

They kept being in touch even after Ricky went back to Pune from New Delhi and after a few months of being apart , the couple realised their love for each other.

Engagement and Sangeet

The couple had already decided on keeping their mehndi and wedding a traditional affair, so opted for a more contemporary setting for their engagement and sangeet ceremonies!

The decor was designed using gold and black with hints of red that took the beauty of the setup to a whole new level. The entrance was made to look like a tunnel and included dazzling chandeliers.

The wedding

It was a traditional sikh wedding that took place at a gurudwara. The bride opted for a trousseau from the house of Rimple and Harpreet Narula and looked every bit of a diva in her wedding outfit! The groom on the other hand, looked dapper in his Deepak Perwani sherwani!

Advice for the future couples

“Please enjoy every function as couples tend to get busy with everything that’s going on around them. However, it is important that you and your partner make time for each other and have a blast as this time will never come back.”

We wish this couple a lifetime of happiness for their future endeavours!
