Ashrith & Tanvi Bangalore : From a tent mandap to a unique banarasi lehenga, this offbeat wedding will give you major goals!

Tanvi and Ashrith’s gorgeous wedding is taking the internet by storm for several reasons! From a unique tent-style mandap to Benarasi Lehengas to hosting a 2 states weddings, the couple themselves who are both DJs (how cool is that!) have given us major #weddinggoals. What we also loved throughout the wedding was how effortlessly nature and its resources were fused with the wedding decor, using wood to create centrepieces, florals in abundance and keeping the whole color palette of the wedding on the pastel side.

The Couple

Tanvi, the bride, reminsces “It was in early 2011 when we met through a dear common friend, Leon and the rest is history! I guess when you know what’s right, it’s right!” Well, we for one love stories that begin as friendship and culminate into one beautiful, intimate wedding!

The Wedding

“One of the most interesting facts worth mentioning is that we were keen on having a small and intimate affair at a remote temple tucked away from all civilisation but our families convinced us otherwise, and we ended up doing it in style just 4 months away from the actual date, and what a wedding it turned out to be, far beyond our wildest dreams!

On an evening prior to the wedding, what we called and thought would exclusively be a “Techno Mehendi” turned out to be an amalgamation of Bollywood, Punjabi and Techno to make sure everyone had their fair share of fun! Since the both of us are DJs we had a blast playing at our own wedding” reminsces Ashrith, the groom.

Cinnamon Pictures

Tanvi says about their favorite photographers, “Our family has worked with them on many occasions and they always deliver. They’re a bunch of fun, friendly people who love what they do and the fact that we have mutual friends made it all the more easier to work with”

From a tent mandap with floral chandeliers to a bride in Benarasi Lehenga – this wedding was totally off-beat!

I love unique wedding trends which set a whole new benchmark for weddings. Something that stands out from a thousand same-old same-old wedding decor and makes the whole ceremony look different

More personal. More offbeat. And most importantly more beautiful!

One such wedding is that of this punjabi bride and South Indian couple – Tanvi & Ashrith. From totally offbeat decor trends to a bride in a never-seen-before banarasi wedding lehenga, this wedding literally had it all, clicked beautifully by Cinnamon Pictures. Have a look:

The mandap:

The mandap by  Poonam Mayank Sharma was literally the most unique and offbeat things about this wedding. It’s a tent mandap, made of this huge pastel pink cloth and surrounded by peach and white floral strings, hung in a chandelier style from the tree top creating a visual symmetry around the mandap . How cool is that?

If you are having an outdoor wedding, this mandap is definitely recommended. Also, because it’s completely DIY-able too!

The seating arrangement:

This seating arrangement is a complete balance of elegance and nature blended in. Totally love the use of jute cloths and raw wood in the whole decor.

The centerpiece was a raw wood sculpture with fresh roses in it.

The phoolon ki chadar:

Loving this phoolon ki chaadar where-in the roses matched all the other elements in the decor and the bride’s lehenga too.

The bride’s banarasi lehenga:

It is not everyday that you see a bride opting for a Raw Mango Benarasi lehenga for her wedding, and when you do, you take notice. I literally can’t take my eyes off this pink lehenga skirt paired with a pastel blue choli and a pastel blue sheer dupatta.

She completed the look with minimal jewelry – a statement matha patti, an oversized nath, and a layered emerald and diamond necklace.

P.S. loving those roses in her bun matching her lehenga skirt!

Some cute moments from the wedding:

This fashion blogger got ‘rokafied’ to her childhood sweetheart and her engagement pictures are too cute to handle!

Fashion Bloggers don’t just have an addictive Instagram feed, but best taste in bridal fashion too. Case in point : Aanchal Goel who just got roka-fied with her childhood friend Kunwar Batra in a quaint and sophisticated Roka ceremony shot beautifully by Infinite Memories

“It all began 8 years back in school,” says the bride-to-be Aanchal Goel the face of My Multi Faceted Diary, who took the first step toward her marriage with the roka ceremony.  Aanchal and Kunwar both hail from different communities, and like any normal desi-family, they had to face the ‘marry in your own community’ thing too.

But their love for each other was too strong to be caught up in any of this.  This much-in-love couple stayed firm and surpassed all the obstacles that came their way. “Little did we know that we would thrive and survive all the difficulties, and our madness would lead us here,” says the overwhelmed bride-to-be.

Here’s bringing to you some really cool pics from their roka ceremony:

The couple:

The Bride:

Aanchal grabbed all the eyeballs as she walked in her teal-blue lehenga with mirror work on the choli and golden print work on her lehenga skirt, paired with a sheer dupatta with motifs on it.

She completed the look with matching bangles, statement earrings, mermaid braid, dramatic eyes and a deep red on her lips.

Bringing the sexy back:

The Groom:

Kunwar looked dapper in a black suit paired with statement moccasins.

ICW 2018 saw the best of Bridal fashion with the showstoppers Kareena Kapoor, Kiara Advani, Kangana Ranaut and more!

It was that time of the year again, when couture took over the city full throttle. And this time, India Couture Week 2018 came in a bigger, better and boisterous avatar.  The fashion extravaganza, which took place from July 25 to July 29, at the Taj Palace, Delhi showcased some game-changing bridal fashion presented by the top couturiers of the fashion world – Anju Modi, Amit Aggarwal, Rohit Bal, Reynu Taandon, Tarun Tahiliani, Shyamal and Bhumika, Shane and Falguni Peacock, Rahul Mishra, Pallavi Jaikishan and Suneet Varma.

From clothes that spelt grandeur, and sets that could give big-ticket productions a run for their money, the fashion week was full of inspo. If you are bride-to-be and looking for bridal fashion inspo, you are at the right place. Here’s presenting our favourite picks:

Shyamal and Bhumika:

Shyamal & Bhumika opened the finale of ICW 2018’s with their latest collection – ‘Muse of Mirrors’. The collection draws its inspiration from their recent trip to Europe, and featured a lot of intricate embroidery in age-old techniques of aari, zardozi and pitta.

Kiara Advani:

Their showstopper was none other than rising star Kiara Advani, who walked the ramp in a stunning pastel green lehenga. The lehenga comprised of a floor length lehenga skirt with a trail paired with a bustier with sheer puffy sleeves.

Other favourites:

Their collection was dominated by rose pink, greys, mints, ivory, midnight blue and pastels, while its mood remained decidedly royal.

Falguni and Shane Peacock:

To say that the Falguni Shane Peacock show was high on shine would be an understatement. Aside from the liberal use of crystals on all of the garments, there’s was sparkle everywhere.

Kareena Kapoor Khan:

Spotted in a champagne-hue shimmery lehenga, Kareena Kapoor Khan closed the show like no-other. Can’t get over the shimmery dupatta with the signature Falguni and Shane Peacock details – feathers.

Other favourites:

Love how to the designers balanced the use of crystals by maintaining a restrained colour palette – the pastels were more washed-out, the golds were duller and the crimsons, somber. And as is their signature, feather trims lent the perfect touch of exaggeration to nearly all of the looks.

Tarun Tahiliani:

Tarun Tahiliani presented his couture line for the year, titled ‘In Elysium’ – meaning paradise. So, if you were a bride looking for wedding outfits, Tahiliani’s latest collection will give you the feeling of being in paradise.

He’s been working on making his wedding wear that is lighter in weight, to make sure his brides are not weighed down during the celebrations and I say that’s a win win situation to find a lehenga that’s comfy at the same time.

Aditi Rao Hydari:

Aditi Rao Hydari stole the show when she walked in a soft pink lehenga with a lot of crystals and pearls, with a touch of feathers and an ombré veil, paired with an off-shoulder tulle blouse.

Other favourites:

From hand appliquéd tulle lehengas to the kinds that come heavily embroidered in zari, Tahiliani made sure he catered to the expectations of every kind of bride.

Amit Aggarwal:

Aggarwal’s collection titled ‘Crystalis’ featured various complex patterns, textiles and embroideries.

Shilpa Shetty:

Shilpa Shetty, closed the show in plum-hued metallic sari with a futuristic feel to it. The crystal-embedded attire was styled to look like a gown featuring a slit on one side. But it was paired with a halter-neck blouse that gave it the look of a sari-blouse combo.

Other favourites:

Rahul Mishra:

His collection titled as ‘Maraasim’ which in Urdu, means relationships. Known to go heavy on the research with his work. For this season, the designer deep dived into a study of visual history starting from when the Mughals invaded India.

Perhaps one of the more surprising things about Rahul Mishra’s show was that it was one of the few showcases at India Couture Week 2018 that forwent the use of a showstopper.

Our favourites:

Anju Modi:

The designer who has won a million hearts with her signature textile-soaked renditions through blockbuster movies like Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela, brought back the Victorian era charm to the ICW 2018 ramp.

Kangana Ranaut’s handcrafted beige lehenga teamed with a Victorian-style luxe velvet jacket and plunging neckline is everything that a contemporary bride can ask for.

So brides-to-be, hope you had your bucket of unpaid from the best of #icw2018!

Kurt & Isha Mussoorie : This desi bride & firang groom’s destination wedding in Mussoorie has the most fun & quirky photos!

‘When you love a person, you need no words to describe how you feel about them or how much you love them. You just know’

Kurt had chosen Isha to be his life-partner long before marriage was even on the cards. From the first moment he saw her, he was intrigued and wanted to be around the strong energy she exuded. For Isha, Kurt was the calming presence in her life. Being with each other felt natural to them; like it was meant to be.

Their love brought two Indian and Australian families together in a three-day music-and-dance gala. The entire wedding was like a beautiful dream planned and executed by Ckeventstylists by charu kataria. The bride stepped in the wedding ceremony looking like a princess in a make-up done by Sakshi Sagar .

They had a crazy fun sangeet night with performances from artists Hari and Sukhmani, and DJ Sumit Sethi. Isha was a total ‘bridechilla’ who knew how to have fun! Her friends described her as the quintessential carefree spirit in the movies brought to life! We saw the most fun and quirky pictures of the wedding featured by their photographer Twogether Studios.

Kurt and Isha became one team and had one of the most fun wedding. Their ceremony took place at the beautiful Jaypee Residency Manor amongst the lovely mountains of Mussoorie. And to make it even more special, Kurt made vows to her in Hindi during the wedding rituals, that made everyone teary-eyed. Do check the video od the wedding ceremony for that.

We wish this Indo-Western duo a lifetime of happiness and success ahead!

This South Indian – Punjabi bride broke the internet with her bridal outfits! #majorbridegoals

“Kashmir main tu Kanyakumari..

North-South ki kat gayi dekho doori hi saari…

Kashmir tu main Kanyakumari…

Fifty-Fifty har situation mein hissedari” Why am I remembering that song?

Well that’s because I came across this stunning couple Palak Sachdeva and Dhruv Reddy – a punjabi bride who took her wedding vows with her South-Indian groom!! Their wedding was a mix of both Punjabi and South-Indian traditions and needless to say, it was phenomenal. Check out the beautiful wedding pictures clicked by none other than Shades Photography

Her Bridal entry:

……under a phoolon-ki-chaadar made entirely of red and pink of roses.

Her bridal outfit:

For the wedding Palak chose to wear a kanchipuram saree paired with a Doli blouse by Sakina Ahmed .

Her blouse literally broke the internet! It depicts the story of a Raja & Rani. It was an inspiration taken from the Indian weddings that beautifully narrate the wedding story of a Raja and Rani and their Bharath.

She completed her look with a heavy choker and earring set paired with layered necklaces, a statement matha-patti, kamar bandh, haath phool and the choodas. What grabbed my attention the most were her unique kaleeres!

Also, kudos to this punjabi bride who welcomed her husband’s tradition and dressed as a complete south-Indian bride, but also kept her traditions alive and wore the choodas and haath-phools. #YouGoGal

After Akash & Isha Ambani, seems like it’s the youngest son Anant Ambani’s turn to get engaged now! #itsrainingAmbaniweddings

Seems like it’s not just raining Bollywood and celebrity weddings, it’s raining weddings in the Ambani household too! While I’m still recovering from the grand pre-engagement and even grander engagement of Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta, while not to forget the Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal’s engagement bash a couple of months back, the news of a 3rd Ambani engagement is here already!

The youngest son of Mukesh & Nita Ambani, Anant Ambani is now rumored to be engaged to his lady love Radhika Merchant, and the netizens seem to have lost their cool over this one!

Spotted in this picture are Anant and Radhika wearing matching green robes, smiling at each other …and lost in each others eyes amidst the green pastures behind! If that’s not love, I dunno what is.

Still don’t believe it? Well then let SRK himself gives you proof. Check this out:

At Akash and Shloka’s engagement Shah Rukh teased Anant Ambani about his rumoured girlfriend Radhika Merchant and it’s so cute.

In a video that’s been doing the rounds on social media, King Khan is seen asking Anant to rate Radhika on her performance.

Anant ecstatically replied, “10 million…infinity!”.

Shah Rukh continued pulling Anant’s leg and asked, “Tumhari koi girlfriend nahi hai? (Don’t you have a girlfriend?)”, with Radhika standing right next him. And this goes without saying, Anant’s reaction is 10 Million….infinity too!

For those who don’t know, 23-year-old Anant has studied at the prestigious Brown University in the US and you must have seen him with his mother, Nita Ambani at various IPL matches, cheering for Mumbai Indians.

Radhika Merchant on the other hand is a 24-year-old graduate in Political Science from the New York University. She did her schooling from Mumbai’s Cathedral and John Connon School and École Mondiale World School before completing her IB Diploma from BD Somani International School.

And that just in, mommy dearest – Nita Ambani was heard saying in an interview, “Mukesh and I have given very strong foundation to our kids and even larger wings to fly – they have the freedom to take decisions for themselves and of course, choose whom they would want to spend the rest of their lives with. Marrying the one you love is gratifying and heart-warming”.

Sooo, should I be expecting a 3rd Ambani engagement this year? Okay, toooo much excitement and here’s trying to KEEP CALM and *fingers crossed*!

How to recreate Sonam Kapoor’s wedding hairstyles from ‘Veere Di Wedding’ – WzExclusive!

If you are planning on attending a wedding in the near future or getting married yourself, I’ll give you one less thing to worry about – your wedding hairstyle! After all, the hairdo can completely make or break your look.

Well, what better than to get inspired from the wedding movie of the year –  Veere Di Wedding! We spotted Sonam Kapoor opting for some really cool bridesmaid hairstyles which literally stole our hearts and so we decided to recreate these hairstyles with one of the top salons in Mumbai – Kromakay!

Check out the top 4 wedding hairstyles sported by Sonam Kapoor in VDW and how we recreated them in this video shot by – What Knot Photography.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to recreate them –

1. The bun with a twist:

This one’s on the list of my favourites as it’s a lazy girl’s hack. It does not take a lot of time to be done and it looks very elegant!

Steps to create this hairstyle:

1. Blow dry your hair.

2. Tie it into a neat ponytail.

3. Twist the ponytail into a neat low bun and leave the ends loose.

4. Curl the loose ends for the finishing touch.

2. Bubble Fishtail braid:

This hairstyle takes some time to figure out, but lemme tell you the end result will be totally worth it!

Steps to create this hairstyle:

1. Tie the hair into a neat ponytail.

2. Wrap a strand of hair on the hair-tie to cover it.

3. Now, do a regular fishtail braid in one portion and secure it with a hair-tie.

4. Repeat the same for another potion too and secure with another band.

5. You can go for one more portion depending on the length of your hair.

3. Rose bun with curls:

If you are planning to have all attention on you, then this hairstyle is the way to it. Also, it’ll give your hair a lot of volume.

Steps to create this hairstyle:

1. Make a middle partition and curl all the hair evenly in batches.

2. Make a french braid from the front and braid it till you reach the end of the strand.

3. Repeat on the other side.

4. Now take both of them together and twist them in concentric circles, doing the rose style bun.

5. Pin it properly.

4. Cornrow bun:

Now coming to my favourite – the cornrow bun. Sonam grabbed eyeballs when she came up with this hairstyle in Bhangra Ta Sajda and this hairdo became a trend setter. So, obviously this makes into the list of top 10 trending hairstyles of 2018 too!

Steps to create this hairstyle:

1. Make 4 equidistant partings from the centre of the forehead.

2. In each parting create a 3-strand tight braid – A.K.A the conrow.

3. Tie the remaining hair into a ponytail.

4. Intermingle the cornrows into the ponytail, so that the braids become a part of it.

5. Now, wrap up the ponytail into a bun.

So, are you all geared to slay in these wedding hairstyles and have all eyes on you ?
