This Stunning Post-Wedding Shoot In Abu-Dhabi Will Make You Wish You Were There!

Aditya and Anupriya just hit their first wedding anniversary. And what better way to celebrate than with an international post-wedding shoot that shows their love! The couple got a chance to re-live their best moments again with this brilliant shoot by Knotty Days.

They first shot at the old Umm al Quwain Airport which is defunct now. They even had two abandoned aircrafts to add to the surroundings. This made it special for them as Aditya is a pilot and he met his wife while flying with Jet Airways, where she worked as a stewardess for 10 years!
After that, they headed over to a place called ghost village that resembled the broken remains of a village.

They then spent some time at the pool before heading over to the mountains of UAE. The team at Knotty Days managed to get some beautiful images at the Hatta Dam, capturing the rugged mountains housing the dam.

Check out the whole album here.

10 Types of Men You Should Say No To! #ArrangedMarriage

So you just attended your younger cousin’s wedding. You must have already started getting threats from your relatives, “26 ki hogayi hai… Shadi nai karni kya?” and your existence is probably being questioned.

Then the drama unfolds and you decide to meet the hand-picked marriage prospects. But of course, not every single one is a gentleman right? Chances are, you might come across more assholes than you anticipated! :O  And you might have to kiss court many frogs before finding your prince charming.

Here’s a list of those frogs that you should definitely avoid:

1. The Snob:

This guy should probably marry himself. He’s someone who is so in love (with his soul) that there is no place for others to fit in. (you’re probably going to find 2362 selfies of himself in his phone.)

1. The Snob:

2. Mamma’s Boy:

With his umbilical cord still attached to his mother, this “maa da laadla” will blabber about the one-of-a kind pickles his mom makes (on the very first meeting). Be warned – post-marriage, this para about pickles will soon turn to a novel about how you can’t match up to his mum’s fabulousness.

2. Mamma’s Boy:

3. Mr. ‘Intellectual’:

A guy who has an opinion on everything – Be it global warming or the way you sip your water.

3. Mr. ‘Intellectual’:

4. Mr. Not-So-NRI:

Wears a kurta pyjama on Diwali while in Canada and at the same time mentions 100 reasons on why India is not a country to settle down in.

4. Mr. Not-So-NRI:

5. One who can’t take a ‘No’:

A thousand reasons would not be enough for this guy to accept the fact that he has been rejected. Believe me, you’ll end up blocking him.

5. One who can’t take a ‘No’:

6. The Sports Ka Keeda:

While it may sound sexy, you can’t always talk about how impressive Virat Kohli’s field work was!

6. The Sports Ka Keeda:

7. The Tech Savvy:

This guy’s conversation would only revolve around that new gadget in the market. Don’t bother wasting your time on him… he should just marry his Macbook!

7. The Tech Savvy:

8. Mr. Price-Tag:

Remember Suhas, the chutney guy from 3 Idiots? Yes, his kind exists! Conversations with him would only revolve around the cost of his car, bike, laptop, underwear and socks.

8. Mr. Price-Tag:

9. Mr. Stereotype-Engineer:

You are sure to meet at least one engineer profile who rides a bullet, owns a DSLR and is a guitarist. He is going to bore you with his version of “Channa Mereya”.

9. Mr. Stereotype-Engineer:

10. The Mystery Man:

You will finally meet a man who is as crazy about dogs as you are, has the same taste in music, probably cried when Jon Snow died and you click like it was meant to be. That’s when the mystery man disappears, without leaving a trace. Whaaat?!

10. The Mystery Man:

Moral of the story:
Take your time, ladies!

10 Helpful Tips to Get Some Stress-Free Sleep Before the Wedding Day

1. No Screens

Switch off all electronics like laptop/phone/television/etc 45 minutes before you want to be asleep. Apart from the obvious problems like getting disturbed with last minute notifications, the blue light from these screens actually signals daytime to our brain, keeping it awake. It also delays the production of melatonin (sleep hormone) which makes it harder to fall asleep.

2. Eat Foods Containing Tryptophan

Milk, cheese, yoghurt or ice cream – all these have a calming amino acid called tryptophan that naturally relaxes you. So do foods like bananas, pineapples, eggs, nuts, chicken, fish. (Milk/cheese do have has some side effects like bloating so we suggest eating yoghurt instead, since it is fermented.)

2. Eat Foods Containing Tryptophan

3. Light Exercise

Exercise or go for a run before bedtime. It actually increases the amount of deep restorative sleep we get. Also known to be a stress reducer.

4. Avoid Caffeine

We shouldn’t have to tell you this. Caffeine has a half-life between 8-10 hours and suppresses sleep for that time. We suggest avoiding caffeine after 1 pm.

4. Avoid Caffeine

5. Avoid Alcohol

Duh. Alcohol will digest hours after drinking (well past midnight), making it hard to fall asleep again. People think that alcohol may help them sleep but it actually reduces REM sleep. Also, de-hydration is a thing.

6. A Hot Bath

Soak in a hot bath just before getting into bed. You can imagine how relaxing this is. It also increases your body’s core temperature before dramatically dropping it, giving your body a signal that you’re ready to sleep. You can add some chamomile bath salts / drink chamomile tea for the calming effect to sink in.

6. A Hot Bath

7. Create a Sleep Schedule

A month or 2 before the wedding, set a daily schedule for yourself to do the same pre-sleep things like having a bath / brushing / tea and hit the sack at the same time everyday. (Preferably early.) Doing these routinely things will tell your body it’s time to sleep.

8. Eat a Light Meal

Eat a light dinner that is easily digestible – preferably high-protein and low-carb. Fish is a good option as it is high in Omega-3 which helps regulate dopamine and serotonin – brain chemicals that are directly involved in sleep regulation.

9. Listen to Sleep-Inducing Sounds

Listen to a calming playlist while you’re in bed. Or download one of the several apps available that generate white noise – White noise devices work two ways: by blocking disturbing noises; and by creating calming sounds that help to induce sleep.

9. Listen to Sleep-Inducing Sounds

10. Pop supplements

If all else fails, you can take supplement tablets that help you sleep. We recommend consulting someone before-hand on what kind of supplements you can use as there are various types.

An Open-Letter To My Future Husband – This Is How I Will Love You

Dear Future Husband

Isn’t it weird that I am writing this to you a few days before we start our happily-ever-after? But since you’re marrying me, I am sure you are already aware of my eccentricities. I guess you can call it the full disclosure agreement before we tie the knot and I embark on a journey of a lifetime to annoy you forever! 😀 Wait, isn’t that what soulmates are meant to do? Oh, and just so you know, the left side of the bed will always be mine.

Anyway, moving on..

My love, I am glad that we found each other in this mad mad world and am excited to start this epic journey with you. Since the moment I fell in love, I couldn’t wait to start my life with you because I knew it would be an adventurous, crazy and happy one. But today, I want to tell you about the times it won’t be so great and how we can make it better.

Darling, understand that I have been hurt before and respect my lessons and I can promise you that they won’t be a part of our lives. There may be times when I will need some time alone and I want you to know that it is only because I need to rejuvenate my body and mind. It will never, ever be because I need a break from us.

I know as we start our new life, a lot of things will change but I promise to make everything worth it. I will love and respect your family as my own and I expect nothing less from you – parents have their special place in everyone’s lives, don’t they? I will try my best to find out every detail from your mom about the time you refused to put on pants for kindergarten and I promise to pass on the story to our kids.

You remember the time when my best friend got sick and I had to take care of her? Well, we had just started dating and I didn’t want to hurt you but she really needed me to analyse the texts of the guy she was crushing on! Through thick and thin, our friends have stuck with us and accompanied us to every place we ever wanted to go – which mostly comprised of fast food joints and pubs of course. Even when we are married, I will need a vacation with my girls and I hope you happily embrace it. (Well, you do have your boys night out!).

I promise to be your pillar of strength at the times of need but I will also be your biggest critic if the need be. When we spend our lives together, we have to inspire, challenge and motivate each other to grow. And I promise to do all of that, be your favourite partner in crime and more!

As a couple, we will have fights and I know we will get through them without any permanent damage if we keep our love and respect for each other unscathed. I can’t promise you that everyday will be an adventure with me, but I can promise you that if you’re having a bad day, I will do that silly dance (that never fails to bring a smile to your face), even though I am burnt out. I will also pack my bags at a moment’s notice and leave for a weekend adventure if all you want to do is escape! I can promise that I will sleep in late whenever you want to and indulge in silly fights over leaving wet towels on the floor. If your perfect idea of a night in is pizza and binge watching Game of Thrones, then you’re in for a treat. (No, I won’t force you to watch The Grey’s Anatomy.)

I will keep up with your dreams and I hope you keep up with my crazy too. Let’s do this so we can always count on each other to enjoy midnight ice cream and go on sudden road trips as well as share dreams, nightmares and those seemingly impossible goals. Darling, I promise to make growing older a lot more fun than it sounds. If doing everyday things is something stable and boring couples do, then let’s be boring together. I look forward to waking up next to you for the rest of my life, fighting with you for your share of fries and tucking my cold feet underneath your warm ones and flashing those puppy eyes you can never resist. Love, I may fight with you over silly things but when the world turns its back on you, I promise to be there by your side and fight against it all just to see you smile.

See you on the flipside.

XOXO
Your Future Mrs.

An Open-Letter Before The Wedding To The Father Who Raised A Strong Woman

Dear Dad,

As I jot down these words, a thousand memories flash through my mind, each more precious than the other. It surprises me and makes me giggle that all those tough lessons that once made me angry, make me laugh today and I understand why they were important. Today, I am moments away from starting a new chapter in my life and all I can think about is how every little detail and every little lesson from you, prepared me for this day!

As I start my new life, I want to thank you for the one you have given me. I know now how much effort and dedication it takes to make things perfect and I just want you to know that you will forever be the man I love the most because you have made me who I am and you have taught me how to hold my head high while being myself. I love how you pampered me but I love it more that you let me out into the world to learn my lessons, all the while preparing me for what was about to come.

I want to thank you for silently correcting me but never judging me. It takes a lot of courage to watch your daughter fall and pick herself up and you have always given me the space to do that. Yet, there have been times when I have fallen a little too hard and you have extended your hand without a second’s delay. Thank you Dad for never letting me feel that I was any less than my brothers. It takes a strong man to raise an equally strong woman and like I always said, “My Daddy – Strongest”!

Dad, you have never hidden anything from us and that has taught me that even the most perfect man of your life can have imperfections and you can still love him with all your heart. Thank you for teaching me how to love and accept people as they are and not letting the shortcomings come in the way of our peace and happiness.

Simultaneously, you taught me how I should treat myself and how others should treat me. I know now where I should draw the line. Dad, you have taught me what a marriage should be like and how it takes two to make it work! You have also given me the strength and love to create a family of my own and embrace another as my own and for that, I will forever be grateful.

I know you may have your doubts about my man but please remember that I saw something in him that reminded me of you. And that’s when I knew that he was the one. While traditionally fathers tell their daughters that it is going to be okay; today, I want to tell you that it is going to be okay and even if it doesn’t, you have given me enough strength to deal with whatever comes my way. It may be difficult to see your daughter wave goodbye, but I will still call you when I can’t understand my taxes or have a flat tire and in that moment you will know that I will forever be your little girl!

Love,
Your Not-So-Little-Anymore Fighter!
