Shreyas & Ankita Jaipur : Colourful Rajasthan-Inspired Wedding Held at Gold Palace Resort, Jaipur

This vibrant Jaipur wedding kick-started with a lovely pre-wedding shoot with fun Desi props and traditional outfits.  Ankita was captured beautifully by The Creative Lens twirling, laughing and simply enjoying the presence of her groom, while Shreyas looked no less pleased with his beautiful bride.

What proceeded was a fun-filled, equally colourful Mehndi ceremony where she wore a bright pink and orange net lehenga and her better half balanced out the equation in a simple white outfit with a pastel orange Nehru-jacket.

The wedding itself was no less lively, with our couple looking extremely happy and in love while everyone around them rejoiced in the festivities.

The highlight of the event was the splendid wedding décor. The venue was covered in vibrant drapes, strings of marigold, floral installations and upturned Rajasthani umbrellas. Look out for how creatively the couple chose to disguise their wedding photo booth as a painted, desi-style scooter!

Creative Lighting Ideas to Brighten Up Your Wedding Venue!

Summer’s long gone, the monsoons have ended and winter is fast approaching. This only goes to say that the dark, cold nights are well on their way. And if you have a wedding coming up, you best plan out the perfect way to light up that drab winter mood and add a nice warm touch to your big day!
What’s more is lighting plays a vital role in setting the mood for your wedding so choosing the perfect way to brighten up your wedding venue is kind of important. Plus, creative lighting ideas definitely amp your wedding decor by a couple of notches.
So to help you out with all the brilliant ways to achieve a gorgeous, glam wedding atmosphere that is also warm and cosy, we’ve made a list of some unique and unusual lighting décor ideas that we came across and simply loved.
Check them out, they’re quite impressive!

LIGHT BULBS

Who would’ve thought something as simple as light bulbs could make wedding décor look so pretty? We also love this décor idea for how easy to incorporate it is.

LIGHT BULBS

PAPER LANTERNS

String your wedding venue with a couple of paper lanterns fitted with string lights or bulbs. You could also opt for colourful bulbs inside white paper lanterns for a colourful yet muted atmosphere.  This goes both ways! Colour paper lanterns with white lights work just as well.

PAPER LANTERNS

PAPER LANTERNS

STRING LIGHTS

Drape your wedding venue with some overhead string/bistro lights hung in aesthetic and creative ways for a romantic, makeshift ceiling.

STRING LIGHTS

TWINE BALLS OF LIGHT

Another way to incorporate lights is to place them in or around a ball made of rope, twine or cord. The best part is they’re totally DIY!
To make the ball, all you need to do is wrap the rope/twine/cord tightly around a balloon in random patterns and cover it with a layer of glue. Make the sure the glue is mixed with a portion of water to make it easier to slather on. Let the ball dry overnight. Once, it’s dry, pop the balloon with a pin and voila! Your very own twine ball. Now all you need to do is place any kind of light inside them and hang them up.

MASON JARS

Mason jars are so DIY too! Pick out all the old jam jars and nutella jars from your cupboard and use them to add a creative touch your wedding lighting and décor.

LIT UP SIGN BOARDS

These lit up sign boards glam up your wedding ambience quite a bit. They are fun to have around and also serve as a great background for your wedding photos!

SKY LANTERNS

Way to make a day memorable! Release them into the sky once the night ends and they are sure to set a memorable concluding note to your wedding day.

SKY LANTERNS

TEA CUP PROPS

Using over-turned tea and saucer sets as wedding lighting certainly add a whimsical atmosphere to the venue. A simple way to do this is to use plastic/paper cups and plates, glue them together and drill a hole in between through which you could fit in your light.

TEA CUP PROPS

PAPER HEARTS

These work brilliantly for a cute and romantic touch! Also, they are super simple and will take you next to no time.

PAPER HEARTS

WINE BOTTLES

Gather all those empty wine bottles from your bachelorette and use them to make some economical and unusual light decorations!

SUSPENDED UMBRELLAS

We loved this one! So simple yet so creative. Not to mention, easy to incorporate. Experiment with colours and patterns of the umbrellas and also the lights. You could also try turning the umbrellas upside down!

Manish Malhotra LFW W/F 2016: Bridal Fashion You Just Can’t Miss Out On!

Lakme Fashion Week 2016 started off in all its glory with a fabulous winter/festive collection by none other than the master of bridal fashion, Manish Malhotra. A stunning array of modern silhouettes fused with ethnic elements brought the collection alive as ravishing models graced the runway in all the glitter and sparkle that stays true to a Manish Malhotra range.

The collection brought a new take on bridal fashion, steering away from the trademark Indian colour palette and using European hues of pastels, pinks, nudes, silver-grey and a muted gold.
Lehenga-sarees worn under floor-length jackets, fringed crop tops in sparkly silver and capes replacing the traditional dupatta are only a few of the novel silhouettes that Manish introduced to the bridal fashion industry this season. Plunging necklines over full-circular skirts, cold-shoulder loose-fit blouses and trailing anarkalis with broad-legged trousers are a few other styles that the master craftsman brought forward.
Incorporating light, delicate fabrics like silk, lace and sheer net, he cast a gorgeous layer of heavy embellishment of large floral motifs in vibrant hand embroidery, resham threadwork, sequins and of course, some sparkle.

The menswear range was made to fit royalty in modern times. The dapper models sported textured velvet bandhgalas, clean-cut silk jackets and kurtas with dhoti / cigarette pants accessorizing to the point of perfection with embroidered shawls, silk scarves and jewelled buttons. The colour palette was a winter shade of blacks, midnight blues, deep maroons and touches of off-white with a few select ensembles in bright shades of yellow and salmon.

Shraddha Kapoor took on the role of showstopper, donning a splendid, deep-green, heavily embellished lehenga skirt and a sheer crop top with embroidery in shades of green, red and pink.
All in all, the collection was, as expected, worth more than just a couple million bucks. Check out these fabulous visuals for a detailed idea on Mr.Malhotra’s bridal fashion trends of the season!

Aditya & Samidha Delhi : Fashion Forward Hindu Wedding Held at The Heritage Grand, Delhi

Ever seen a bride pulling off a neon lehenga this beautifully?
What stood out at this wedding at The Heritage Grand, Delhi was the elaborate and stunning bridal wear. We love how this bride carried off this unusual colour with such grace! In fact her entire bridal look had us staring at our screens for quite some time. The sangeet lehenga was a bright fluorescent green, with gold and silver metallic applique work while she balanced out the skirt with a blouse of muted gold.
What stole the spotlight were all her larger-than-life wedding ring and the sparkling stones from Tanishq that adorned her neck. She managed to pair all of this with a gorgeous half-do with floral accessories that matched her lipstick to perfection.
The groom on the other decided to keep it classy and simple with a black 3 piece suit, matching his tie to Samidha’s neon lehenga.

The wedding lehenga was no less stunning, in a lovely red embellished with gold embroidery. Again, Samidha’s resplendent polki jewellery, also by Tanishq, was what grabbed all the attention. We loved how the red gemstone surrounded by diamonds matched subtly matched her lehenga.
This time though, the groom carried off neon like a boss, in his bright green and yellow sherwani. All in all, this couple really knew how to rock wedding fashion!

QUOTES FROM THE BRIDE

One of my best wedding memories was at the time of the engagement the moment when we exchanged rings, my dad had tears in his eyes, he just hugged me so tightly and then Aditya as if he wanted to say “Now I am giving you my most precious thing”. I could just feel it across…

One advice I would give brides is that first and foremost never forget it’s YOUR day! You are the Queen. No one in this entire world can take away that attention from you! And yes, everything will fall into place. Your worries will not make it any different.
So put on your lovely smile and shine! 🙂

A Guide to Picking the Perfect Bindi to Match Your Face Shape.

Bindis have been worn in our country for countless years and every Indian girl can identify with wearing one, at least sometime in their lives. Though are mums probably wear one regularly, we 21st century girls reserve the look for when we’re feeling especially ethnic, to make a fashion statement, or of course when we’re tying the knot in all our bridal glory.

More often than not, what we pay attention to while selecting a bindi is the colour, the pretty motif or maybe we just like it because it’s a celebrity knock-off. But what is seldom kept in mind is whether the shape of your favourite bindi would match the shape of your face. Basically, it’s all about proportions.
For example: a healthy woman is advised not to wear large prints as it would only make her look larger. Likewise, the same equation applies to your face. You wouldn’t want to end up picking a bindi that wouldn’t flatter your facial proportions or accentuate/diminish a feature the wrong way.
So here’s a guide to all you need to know about finding just the right bindi that’ll blend perfectly with your gorgeous features!

ROUND FACE

Girls with round faces should avoid going for large, circular bindis as they will only make your face look rounder. Vertical bindis would look great on you they lengthen your face and give an illusion of angles, balancing out your features. But if you do happen to find a circular one that you happen to love, only go for it if it relatively small in size.

ROUND FACE

HEART – SHAPED FACE

Heart – shaped faces tend to have a broad forehead, slightly wide cheekbones and a narrow chin. Any kind of big bindi should be avoided as they will only make your forehead look larger. Instead, opt for small ones in a flattering design. We recommend you to go for small and simple circular bindis.

HEART – SHAPED FACE

DIAMOND – SHAPED FACE

These can be identified by a smaller forehead, defined cheekbones and jawline with a pointed chin. You have the freedom to experiment with most types of bindis. Though, we suggest you do stay away from very sharp designs as too much of angles isn’t a good thing either.

DIAMOND – SHAPED FACE

OVAL SHAPE

Equally proportioned forehead and chin with a slightly wide set of cheekbones? Well, you have the globally ideal face shape! What are you even doing here? Go flaunt whatever you wish to, you lucky person.
Oh, wait! One small tip, if your face is elongated, try not to go for bindis that are too long. (because, duh. Proportions.)

OVAL SHAPE

SQUARE FACE

If your forehead, cheekbones and chin are all of the same width, then you have a square face. Also can be identified by sharp edges, strong cheekbones and a broad jaw.
The goal here is to soften a few of those edges so we would advise you to opt for bindis that are circular. Any size works! Though, we think you’d be able to pull off a large statement bindi the best. You could also try out half-moon shaped bindis! Avoid geometrical bindis at all costs.

SQUARE FACE

Having a bachelorette party is a must for every bride-to-be and what better way to celebrate the development than with your best friend? If you are not the party person, you could always opt for an entire weekend of sleeping in and rom-coms and snacking on pizza! As long as you two bond (yes, bonding over alcohol counts ;), it would be worth it!

So, what are you waiting for? Go, make those plans already!
