Signature Bridal Makeup Looks that can NEVER Do You Wrong!

Indian bridal wear gives you the freedom to experiment freely with your makeup. As brides prefer reds, golds and maroons over most other colours, Indian bridal makeup can use an array of palettes ranging from subtle peaches and pink to bold reds and maroons. The more the choice, the harder it gets right? Fret not! With over 300 weddings featured in our real weddings section we spotted four sure shot ways you can ace your Indian bridal makeup. Real brides show us how it’s done! Being dolled up by ace makeup artists like Elton J Fernandez, Nidhi Behl and Varsha Gidwani to name a few, these 4 signature looks are sure to give you that bridal glow without making your bridal makeup look cake-y, over the top or way too minimal.

Bold Lips

Whether you’re wearing a lehenga, saree or a sharara bold bright lips can never do you wrong. Our real brides have picked tones of red and pink that suit their bridal attire perfectly – but do not be afraid to experiment with bright bold colours like candy pinks and shimmery glosses or even go all the way like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the Cannes Film Festival – purple lipstick for the win!

Au Naturale – Minimal MakeUp

A lot of times brides go for the minimal makeup look and end up looking like they have no makeup on at all! That is one path you do NOT want to tread. Talk to your makeup artist at each trial and make sure to see your makeup under a bright light or outdoors in the sun. This will give you the confidence that your makeup is perfectly blended, with a fresh, minimal glow to it. Our Real brides Rebecca, Neha, Anika and Debbie went for these looks and pulled them off beautifully!

Shimmer Eyes

Rocking that shimmery gold-grey-blue eye-shadow can bring your bridal look levels higher. Real brides Nidhi, Neetu and Nishita made a statement with gorgeous shimmery eye-makeup and a subtle overall look. They balanced out the lips with the eyes, accentuating only one feature as bold lips AND bold eyes might make your bridal makeup look a wee bit over the top. Hence, when you’re going for a shimmer eye bridal look, make sure to balance it out with nude lips or subtle blush.

How to Deal with Last Minute Nervous Breakdown, Days Preceding Your Wedding? – Weddingz Advice #5

Wedding planning is stressful! A lot more for a bride as she’s been day-dreaming about having the perfect fairytale wedding ever since she’s been watching the whimsical stories of Disney Princesses. Yeah Disney has indeed spoilt us silly!

Days preceding the wedding, brides tend to get more anxious about every little detail surrounding their wedding planning. Will the decorator cut down the price for the jute runners you’ve wanted to set on your table decor? What if the lehenga doesn’t fit? What if the caterers mess up with the food arrangement? What if this, what if that?!

The series of “what ifs” could simply slip a bride into an anxiety or panic attack. To avoid from getting overwhelmed with all such nuances of your wedding its essential you calm your nerves by breathing in – breathing out and believe that everything will be just fine.

Begin to visualize your wedding, the way you’ve been planning for it and pinning those gazillion boards on Pinterest. If all these tips as a starter don’t work out, scroll on as we give you some cool suggestions to bust those last minute nervous breakdown moments you may or may not go through days preceding your wedding.

NERVOUS BREAKDOWN BUSTING TIPS

Gather Your Girlfriends and Go For A Relaxing Spa Treatment

Gather Your Girlfriends and Go For A Relaxing Spa Treatment

Who else to share your wedding worries than the ones who’ve known all your deep dark secrets? Your girlfriends of course or your best guy buddy. Go on a luncheon with your friends or for a relaxing beauty spa treatment with your girlfriend, whatever break it takes to calm those wedding nerves, get right on to it before it gets onto you.

Surround Yourself with Positive People

Surround Yourself with Positive PeoplePhoto By: Jodi Clickers

By positive we don’t mean the ‘Yes Man’ kind of people, who will simply agree to whatever you say. When you’re already going through a mess, it’s good to have calming and reassuring people around you. Surround yourself with people who keep a positive attitude even in times of crises and provide practical solutions.

Take Up Exercising and Focus On Getting Fit

Take Up Exercising and Focus On Getting Fit

Take up some light exercising or go brisk walking to drive away your attention from all the madness surrounding your wedding planning. To calm your nervous breakdown on or before the wedding day simply get up and go brisk walking this should help to lower the anxiety. Days or months preceding your wedding join the gym or do some home exercising to distract your mind and focus more on getting fit to look like a diva on your day.

Eat Well and Sleep Well

Eat Well and Sleep Well

Never skip breakfast. It is the most important meal of the day. Also, DO NOT CRASH DIET, this will just make you crankier and increase the chances of a nervous breakdown. Eat substantial meals.

Get at least 7-8 hours of good sleep. If you’re having difficulty sleeping and getting enough rest, indulge in things that relax you like reading a novel, sipping on a cup of tea, lighting fragrant candles or burning aromatherapy oils or simply taking a long and relaxing bath.

Plan Ahead Of Time

Plan Ahead Of Time

Keep a planner handy and if you’re managing certain details of your wedding, for example say decoration, ensure last minute details are covered a day or two before the wedding. But, if you are to be too occupied with pre-wedding functions delegate the task to someone responsible, it could be your any of the elder members of your house or catch hold of your cousins.

Avoid Drinking

Avoid Drinking

There will be times you may get super worked up and decide to gulp down a whole bottle of your favourite poison on your bachelorette party just to ease the tension. As tempting as it may get, avoid it if you do not want to be a hangover bride. If you feel like taking a quick sip of champagne just before your wedding to drive away those jitters, it’s absolutely okay. A sip or even a glass is fine, but not more.

Relax and Enjoy

It’s a wedding and just like any other party, this one too will have some last minute blunders. Don’t sweat over those petty issues. Instead relax and enjoy the happy moments that are finally taking place.

Focus On Him

Focus On Him

Once you’ve focussed your radar only your fiancé, suddenly even the fine little décor elements that have been bothering you all this while will get out of focus. It’s your new journey with him and when its finally happening, shower all your attention on him and be amazed at how all this while the things you’ve been fretting on and facing those multiple nervous breakdown over don’t really matter.

Wedding Mandap Decoration – 5 Unique Ways to Do It Differently!

Wedding mandap decoration is one of the most important aspects of Indian wedding décor.

What’s in trend? What kind of flowers should I pick? How can I match it to the theme of my wedding?”

We’re sure these kinds of questions are continuously running through your mind as you try and fix your wedding decoration ideas.  It is so essential that each part of your wedding speaks of your personal taste and style yet also keeping it instagram-worthy – don’t you agree? Table settings, wedding drapes and lights, sound – so much detail to take care of. And wedding mandap decoration takes the lead in this decision making process. In order to make your vedi mandap is not only beautiful but unique too, take cues from our Real Wedding couples whose wedding mandap decoration experiments took them the right way. They took concepts of old-school mandaps and added their own twist of contemporary to it!

Bold Backdrops

Opt for a bold backdrop and keep the rest of wedding mandap minimal and elegant. Too many bold elements can be distracting, messy and it just might end up looking too clustered. To keep ypur wedding mandap classy yet traditional, pick one element and make it large! Larger than life chants and Om signs wrapped up in flowers or just a simple floral wall – Components like these will make your wedding mandap double up in style, elegance and class all at once!

Dangling Details

Another way to pretty-up your wedding mandap is to go for the dangling décor details. Just as big a trend as the chandelier mandaps, are these dangling details at on the roof of the mandap. Be it flowers, kaleere or just simple strings of marigold – these beauties accentuate your wedding mandap and making them look like a million bucks! Glass or crystal strings work beautifully too.

Dome Drama

The dome styled mandap has been the classic style for eons now but our real wedding couple’s Rushi and Disha, Deepika and Ankit and Tushi and Vaibhav put their own twist to the traditional dome mandap. They went with an abundance of the natural – ferns, flowers and loads of red. The vedi mandap was decorated beautifully with loads of red, fresh flowers, dangling kaleere and green ferns too. Ever too often, we forget the green and have all our focus on the flowers. Fresh leaves and ferns can be just as beautiful as those colourful flowers – so try something trendy this season with a contemporary twist to these traditional dome mandaps.

Open Top Awesomeness

If you wanna go all-out awesome opt for an open-top mandap or a no-structure mandap. These are the kinds that spell out minimalism in every way. Real Wedding couple Miloni and Gautam did not have a mandap and took advantage of their destination beach wedding held in Phuket, Thailand. The setting sun as a backdrop was all they needed! If you don’t wanna go for an option this minimalist, opt for an open top mandap like Sameer and Aishwarya’s! Minimal clustered floral arrangement paired with pretty drapes were perfect for their beach front wedding.

Pillars enfolded in flowers in beautiful designs are the new thing at Indian weddings! How to Deal With Allergies on Your Wedding Day? – Weddingz Advice #4

With you not handling your wedding decorations and that way your decorator has no idea you’re allergic to roses, you’re now caught amidst a flower wall filled with roses and the next thing you know a series of sneezes follow and you have no control over the situation. Embarrassing?! We can relate.

Not paying heed to your allergies can be the biggest wedding planning blunder you can make. To help you not deal with a bad rash, itchy eyes or constant A-choo’s when you should be actually saying ‘I Do’, read on as we give you some helpful tips to plan ahead of time.

Are you allergic to candles?

Are you allergic to candles?

So your decorator suggests placing thousands of candles around your venue to create that perfect dreamy ambiance you wanted to have for your first dance with your spouse. But, hey! You’re allergic to the scent of it. Grab a bunch of faux candles or the scent-free natural candles made of soy or beeswax.

Are you allergic to flowers?

Are you allergic to flowers?

The worst of all allergies could be being hypersensitive to flowers. Indian weddings minus flowers can be a horrendous nightmare to some. But, with modern couples opting for flower-less wedding decorations, incorporating more modern elements like Moroccan lamps, paper pomanders, you needn’t worry going all red sneezing the hell out of you with fragrant-filled flowers all around you.

-Choose artificial silk flowers or create your own paper flowers

-Choose no or low fragrance flower like daffodils, tulips, orchids, gladiolas, fuchsias, carnations, low-scent roses or tea roses and baby’s breath.

-Avoid lilies and alstromeria the sap from them can cause a nasty rash

Are you allergic to makeup?

Are you allergic to makeup?

You’ve never even dared to brush a stroke of blush on your cheeks or tried the new kohl that’s out in the market simply because you’re not sure which ingredient in it might give you a bad rash?! A bride with no makeup – have you come across anyone like that?

Have a test and trial a month or two before your wedding with your makeup artist. If you think it’s too early and the makeup artist may charge you a bomb for just trials, request a simple patch test of the products your makeup artist uses explaining to her your concerns about allergies.

Is your skin sensitive to platinum jewellery?

Is your skin sensitive to platinum jewellery?

Most jewellery has nickel on them which causes a skin rash. Similarly, platinum is also one of the metals that can cause a rash on your skin. Whether it was your fiancé who decided to surprise you with a platinum ring or your beloved relative who gifted you a set, after wearing the jewellery if your skin seems to develop a rash, don’t panic! Rinse and dry your affected skin area carefully. Avoid applying soap, as it can irritate the skin and the rash will stay longer than you expect it to go away. If your skin is not too raw or irritated, use an alcohol based sanitizer to lessen the irritation or apply a lotion that has a protective barrier like Eucerin.

Is your skin sensitive to a certain type of oil?

Is your skin sensitive to a certain type of oil?

So your gal pals have been pampering you silly, so much so that they decide to gift you a cool spa treatment. With all the running around you’ve been doing planning your big day, you deserve a royal spa service. However, stay alert to which type of oil is being used on you. Oils such as ginger, bergamot, orange, lime, and grapefruit used in aromatherapy can provoke a rash after your skin is exposed to the sun. Request your masseuse to avoid these oils if you have a sensitive skin.

Helpful tips to keep in mind

If possible consult your doctor and request for a pre-medication for any of your allergies to prevent you from itchy, red eyes and lots of sneezing.

Take care of your allergies post your wedding too – Pack an allergy emergency kit for your honeymoon.

Do you have any other quick fixes to these allergies? Is there any allergy we missed mentioning? Let us know in the comment section below.

Deevesh & Deepali Bhopal : Royal Destination Wedding held at Noor Us Sabah Palace, Bhopal

A royal destination wedding held at Noor Us Sabah and Jehan Numa Palace, Bhopal – Deepali and Devesh brought their worlds together in one tastefully grand wedding held at this regal wedding location. Bhopal being a matriarchy, Noor Us Sabah was constructed in the 18th century by Sutal Kaikhusrau Jahan Begum for her daughter, and now is a stunning heritage hotel, perfect for  a royal destination wedding. Walking through the corridors, of both the palaces gives one an insight to the beautiful stories of women rulers – a perfect royal-esque vibe created for Deepali and Devesh’s Noor Us Sabah Palace destination wedding.

Deepali’s Mehendi celebrations brought on an attendance of most participating, beautiful guest, at Jehan Numa Palace, Bhopal. Her bright and bold mehndi ceremony lived up to its old world feel as intended by Devesh and Deepali.  Seating arrangements in concentric circles, bright drapes hung in the open with white and yellow gaddi’s and cushions and an abundance of marigold flowers! All of this set at the gorgeous Jehan Numa Palace – it was a picture perfect set up.

Their wedding was held at day-time on a lawn overlooking the whole of Bhopal and Vindhya hills, with a breath-taking view of Noor Us Sabah Palace, Bhopal. In traditional North Indian weddings the Baraat is a jolly bunch, with loads of naach-gaana and loud dholaks. They usually take their own eons to arrive at the wedding venue. But, Deepali and Devesh had planned their wedding in such a way that the baraat wouldn’t hold up any of the wedding ceremonies and hence decided to have the baraat show off their dancing skills on the way to the wedding reception. But this wasn’t your usual baraat, musicians playing the bagpiper, shehenai and dhol altogether created a fun vibe as the grooms side danced toward the wedding venue.

Deepali and Devesh opted to have their wedding ceremony in the most elaborate, detailed way and in its truest sense, in the most meaningful way. Their pandit, interestingly an IIT alumni had manuals which outline equal duties of a husband and wife without any prejudices – taking traditional Indian wedding rituals to another level of beauty.

Their wedding reception was held at the Jehan Numa Palace, Bhopal. This couple looked absolutely stunning together but the sheer happiness of being newlyweds was so evident on their faces. Deepali stunned in a pretty peach and maroon Shymal and Bhumika lehenga-choli while Devesh looked dapper in his Jodhpuri suit.

When Deepali and Devesh had first contacted us little had we known that this wedding would bring in so much satisfaction! Even today, there is absolutely nothing we feel could have been done in a better way! The transition from the first function right till the end was just the way it should have been! We wish Devesh and Deepali a most successful and happiest of married lives! – The Wedding Salad

To top this she wore gorgeous golden Jimmy Choo heels making for a perfect Indian bridal ensemble! Dolled up by Farzana Jussawalla who gave her a look that had bold eyes and pink-flirty lips. One aspect of this wedding that had yes yelling ”YESS!” was the groom and bride’s entry. We’ve all seen the traditional Dhula on a Ghodi and Dhulan on a palki, but Tanvi and Gaurav decided to do their entry the cool couple way! The groom entered on a Segway! And not just any Segway, it was a Segway fully wrapped with white jasmine flowers for that Indian wedding feel! Wearing his peach toned sherwani and classy reflectors, Gaurav made the most dapper groom entry we’ve seen! Tanvi’s bridal entry was equally beautiful as she made her way to the mandap in a fully covered phoolon ki chaadar. This chaadar was not just covered from the top but all of the fresh flowers dangled right down to the floor and swayed beautifully as Tanvi walked in it. What we especially loved about his pretty bridal entry was the fact that all of Tanvi’s sister’s brought her to the wedding mandap – a sight rarely seen. So much #GirlPower, we love it!

Their entire wedding ceremony was set in a theme of yellow and white – an ideal colour combination for an outdoor day-time wedding like Tanvi and Gaurav’s! They opted for a no-structure mandap but only had tasteful floral pastings in the figure of om. That, along with dangling floral chandeliers and beautifully stretched out wedding drapes was all that was needed to make their wedding a beautiful affair.
